Inharmonious relationship in which an individual kills another of the same species to feed.

Ex .: praying mantis, arachnids, shark cubs in the womb.

Praying mantis - Mantis is an arthropod of the insect class (family Mantoideae). This insect is green and is named after the position of its front paws, together with folded tarsi, as if praying. In this group of insects cannibalism is very common, especially regarding the reproductive process. It is common for females to devour males in a fight that precedes copulation.

Young fowl - young chicks with days of birth, when grouped in sheds not large enough to house them, may occasionally display cannibalism as a means of controlling population size.
